Rick Allen, CO
With almost 24 years as an orthotist, Rick Allen, CO has gained extensive experience in the evaluation, designing, fabrication, and fitting of orthotics/bracing for adults and children. He gained his initial orthotist training at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas while serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He applied these new skills as staff orthotist at both Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska and Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois. During his enlisted tenure, Rick gained valuable experience meeting the unique needs of active military personnel and continued applying this experience for retired veterans upon entering his civilian career. All told, Rick has over 32 years serving the orthotic needs of military personnel.
Following his active military service, Rick attended Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, where he earned his Orthotic Certificate. He began working in Rockford in 1993 and has established a strong reputation within the regional physician, hospital, and therapy communities for his expertise, skilled custom fitting and reliability. Rick joined OrthoIllinois’ FitRight Precision Orthotic & Prosthetic Lab in 2016.
