Cranial Remolding Helmets

The cranial remolding helmet is used to treat positional head deformities in infants. Treatment should be started when the child is between 4 to 6 months old and can last for 3 to 6 months. The orthosis attempts to guide the child’s head growth in the areas of flattening. We use the Starband helmet from Orthomerica. To custom fit the helmet, a 3D image of the patient’s head is obtained using the advanced SmartSoc imaging system.

Protective Helmets

FitRight stocks Danamr soft protective helmets, but we can order hard shell helmets based on need.  Protective helmets can be used for a wide variety of reasons, but we most often use them for patients that are prone to seizures or self harm and post-craniectomy to protect the area of removed bone.
